Nationality: Dutch Hometown: Amsterdam Shoe size: 40 Greenpeace: I work as a teacher on an old Greenpeace action ship, the Sirius. This ship is in Amsterdam, and every day two groups of school kids, in the age of 10-14 years old, come to the ship. Onboard, I teach them about Greenpeace, about the environment and about the destruction of the ancient forests. It's nice to work with children, because they are very enthusiastic. When I was about the age of nine I wanted to join Greenpeace to go to action in one of their rubber boats, and now it turns out that I am working as a teacher for Greenpeace. I am very happy for a chance to join the Rainbow Warrior as a volunteer. In my work as a teacher I talk a lot about saving the ancient forest, and now I can put some theory in practice. I am also a member of the Dutch Greenpeace climbing team. Favorite way of traveling: by bike. |
