Still waiting

Posted by Andrew
They took a break for lunch, and then resumed loading the Marthen. With a shipment of illegally sourced wood being loaded right next to us, we decided a protest was in order. On three boats, and with banners in a variety of languages to represent the international nature of our call to end illegal logging, our crew went over to the Marthen. Quickly, a speedboat headed out from shore, then another and a third.
No serious trouble though. They only took photos, and circled the Rainbow Warrior. Not sure who they were, or why they wanted photos of us. I thought about giving them our website address.
We got our own photos of banners in English, Indonesian, German and Italian before wrapping the protest up. Major export markets for Indonesian wood include the US and Europe, and we're trying to rally support there for laws against illegally sourced wood.
So, fairly routine day for us. The question we are all asking now is, "Where are the police who are supposed to be shutting the illegal logging operations down?"
