The world's beaches are in trouble!

Shipbreaking takes place in poor countries, where once pretty beaches in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Turkey are turned into ship graveyards. However, old ships contain hazardous substances such as asbestos, lead paint and PCBs, which are released into the environment. The Rainbow Warrior is in India to visit the shipbreaking yards. Evedien from the Netherlands is on board....

Out of water

out-of-water---no-showers.jpgThe situation is getting more urgent every day. We're still at anchor 15 miles out of Bombay harbour. Now we're running out of fresh water, we're not allowed to take a shower anymore. We also ran out of fresh vegetables. We need to get in Bombay harbour as soon as possible! But today it's Sunday, so we're stuck out here.
