Shanna Foley: Taking a Stand to Save Ancient Forests

shanna.jpg
Shanna Foley, 19, is a sophomore at Mills College in Oakland, Calfironia, where she
is a straight A student! Public lands are especially important to her, because she
grew up in the Sierra Nevadas, near the Injo National Forest.

Shanna is on a "monopod" on top of the container.

Comments

Hi Shanna,
Sounds like your having fun in the monopod. Wish I could be there with you. But I've already gotten myself arrested enough for this month. But hey it's almost July;) See ya soon.

You guys are all a bunch of crazy people. You are the ones who have destroyed the economy of Southern Oregon. You need to think about who you are hurting before you do these crazy things.

Your bravery and youthful idealism are an inspiration to all of us stuck in the drudgery of every day work weeks!

You are so special for doing what you do. I heard on the radio that you are a straight A student!

Well!

Zach, you are most definately a tool. How can you assume that the good people protecting an ancient forest is the reason you can't find a job. You should be in politics. If you want to whine about the economy being ruined, you should know what you are talking about.

Shanna, your devotion to this cause is inspiring indeed. As a new environmental activist myself, I hope I have the guts to do something similar one day. You'll be happy to know that I am a CEO of a small computer firm, so not all us business types are bad. To the guy complaining about his So. Oregon economy, and thus labeled you "crazy", I just say that his ability to watch the cutting go on and on, takes away a little piece of his humanity each time. Keep the faith.
