Diki Firmansyah, GFRS volunteer, Indonesia
My name is Diki Firmansyah, and I am 25. For the past four years, I have worked on with various advocacy groups including Walhi (Friends of the Earth Indonesia), UPC (an NGO focusing on urban poor) and AMAN (a group focusing on customary rights in Indonesia).
I feel honoured to be part of the Global Forest Rescue Station – I believe that it presents a hope that we can still save our forests from destruction. Illegal logging is in the spotlight now in Indonesia and more people are gaining knowledge of the scale of the problem.
I hope that our Forest Rescue Station really will help the people of Lake Murray save their part of the Paradise Forests into the future. This way we may be able to maintain a balance in our environment.
