I'm a lawyer in Beijing. Most of the time when I am working, I deal with people. I believe everybody has different reasons to live in this world. I'm making a stable living, but I still can't stop looking for the truth in life.

I spent New Year’s Eve at the top of a big tree. The tree house belonged to a German who spent half his life time traveling all over the world. Five years ago, he stopped to live with trees. “Don’t you feel lonely?” I asked. He smiled and said: “Sometimes ... but being close to natural lives teaches me more.”

There was heavy rain that afternoon, but the sky was full of stars when the night came. I fell asleep on the terrace built up between trees. When I woke up in the wee hours, I saw the branches beside me reach towards the faraway galaxy that was gradually getting dark. The ocean and islands were slowly separated in the scene, accompanied with the sound of diverse creatures. At that moment, the strange force brought by the vast universe, deeply touched my soul.

There's a line in a fairy tale: “If you love a flower that lives on a star, it is sweet to look at the sky at night. All the stars are a-bloom with flowers... ”

So, please allow me to love a tree, the one that gave me the most beautiful night and dawn in my life.

Why should we protect the ancient forests? For the forest dwelling people, the answer is - they have to fight for their home. People of other places, may have a different answer. Even if they don't care about illegal logging operations, they might care about the loss of natural beauty.

For me, I think the purpose of protecting the Paradise Forests Region is not only for the survival of human beings, but also for the preservation of the beautiful mother Earth, so the kids of future will still have the opportunity to love a tree or a flower, listen to nature and feel blessed when they look at the sky.
