Hi, I'm Mal. I'm a Kiwi by birth but currently living in Stanwell Park, Australia and I have a worked in a variety of roles for Greenpeace for the last 10 years. Currently I work with our wonderful volunteer Local Groups in the region, and with our campaign teams to help find ways for people to get involved in achieving environmental change.

I have been fortunate enough to spend quite a bit of time in Fiji over the last 6 years and work with people from a number of Pacific nations, during which time I've made some great friends and come to admire and respect the local cultures. I also fell in love with diving and trained as a dive master in Fiji. Through this time, it became clear just what an important role a healthy ocean plays in the lives of Pacific people. You get a sense of this on the coasts of New Zealand and Australia, but it is considerably more acute out here.

So this tour is very special for me. Not only will I be combining two of my real passions (meeting and working with people to help achieve change, and scuba diving) but doing so in a region that has become close to me. And most importantly, on such an positive and essential campaign - to help ensure the last healthy tuna fishery on Earth is sustainably managed and done so in a way fair to the people of the Pacific.
