Ni Sa Bula Vinaka.

I have been involved with Greenpeace for almost two years, and it has been a challenging and a learning career for me. Being involved in this campaign has not only taught me a lot, but also made me appreciate on just how valuable our resources are and genuinely concerned about the problem caused through extensive and unscrupulous human activities. I have learned to appreciate what Greenpeace stands for, and personally I thank the organisation for giving me the opportunity to be part of this very important tour promoting sustainable and equitable fisheries.

As a Pacific Islander, this tour has given me the opportunity to be able to make a difference, and to tell my fellow Pacific Islanders just how important our ocean resources are and what problems and devastation it is going through now. We can all work together to preserve and to sustain what we and our ancestors have lived and survive from, and cherished for thousands of years, our ocean. It is what we decide now, and how we act, that determines the future of our children and it is in our hands to make that choice. The Rainbow Warrior is a significant icon in the Pacific - it was overwhelming and an honour to have travelled on it. Thanks to all the crew and staff, supporters and friends of Greenpeace for supporting and making this tour happen.

Vinaka Vakalevu.
