Ocean Defenders TV: Nisshin Maru report
Posted by Dave, on the Esperanza
Sara, our on board media officer, reports on the situation around the Nisshin Maru, and speaks to our captain, Frank, to our helicopter pilot, Hughie and to our campaigners Melanie and Karl, about the deteriorating ice situation in the Ross Sea, and the environmental threat caused by the disabled whaling factory ship.

you might know already but the sound of this video is kind of crippled. And I also send a big hello to all of the Crew that still know me and wish good luck with what ever comes next. Well, off course I say hello too to those I do not know.
Keep up the good work, Sara, I love your vids.

From my understanding from my time in Japan, there is also a cultural obligation to return the remains of Kazutaka Makita to his homeland. Perhaps others with a better understanding could confirm or deny this...

Nena, the sound is fine here, it might depend on your connection. Great video and I look forward to the next development. Hope you all have enough hot coffee down there, looks absolutely freezing.

Hi!
Thank you for your letters. I wonder, how can I sign up the letter about Nisshin Maru's accident to Japanese politicians?
Yours, Mauri
[NOTE FROM ADELE, GP WEB EDITOR:]
Hi Mauri
Thanks for your interest! You can do that on the Defending Our Oceans website.
Best,
Adele

Hi Nena - Maarten and Elaine sorted out a new one quite quickly - by the time Martin F posted, it was fixed!

Keep up the good work and be careful! I am very proud of you! Here's hoping the Japanese Government will accept your help and avert a disaster. As soon as I heard of the situation, I forwarded notices to all my friends in an effort to support your courageous efforts.
