Måns appreciates the blues
by Måns, onboard the Esperanza
Hi people. This is blue. I mean this is about blue. Blue whale? Nope! Blues, like blue tones and notes? No. Navel lint? NOOOO!! It's 'bout the colour. As simple as that, you know, we have a lot of ... blue on and in this ship called M/V Esperanza. The hull is blue, the carpets in the mess room and the Engine Control Room are blue, one of the stripes in our rainbow is blue (of course), the day bunks are covered with artificial leather in ... yes, blue. Even the buttons on my cabin fan are blue, the showers are blue, hotmail is blue, my lighter is blue and the sky and the towels and bluefin Tuna - and blue eyes don't lie. Even Picasso had a blue period. See what I mean, there is a lot of blue.
You might find this weblog a bit confusing or even weird, but hold on, let me come to the point. The fact is that I looove blue.
Some days before we reached Pohnpei we went in the jet boat to check a Chinese reefer and what they had in their cargo hold. It was me, Matt, Alex, Mal, Lagi, Jo, Sam, Camilla, Nick and Robert. Matt and I let the guys up via the pilot ladder and stayed along the ship for an hour or so. What I saw then was the most incredible, most beautiful nuance of blue I've ever seen. It was just close to the hull of the (red) Chinese reefer, a two metres wide stripe of a colour. The kind of colour you get when you mix sundry chemicals, make a soft drink out of it and put a label on the bottle telling the kids how cool you are. Sometimes they even call it blueberry soft drink.
I guess a mix between Indigo and cobalt and white would give you that bright, indescribable, priceless blue colour I saw that very day. The sun and the sky and the temperature gave the water it's colour, and I will never forget it.
"Wow" you say, perhaps with a touch of sarcasm in your voice. But it's just what I said as well, with no irony at all. A happy moment in an orange jet boat. You don't have to go to Memphis and sing datached parts of Elvis songs to get the blue feeling.
Thank you...blue

Hopefully u r not feeling blue. But that's a good thing because, then, u would appreciate even more feeling happy.
Portholes. Some portholes, or its closest area, are also blue. Or so they were.
Blue.
Blue.
By definition, colors are.. they may depend on the eyes looking at them. It's not a Yes or No thing, but a whole range of inbetweens. What is red for someone could be dark pink for somebody else, but... that's life right?
Because we are alive we feel diferent colours, and feeling blue.. is one of them.
It could be a blue season, it could be a blue time, it could be blue eyes, a blue sky, music, feelings, colours, it could be bluebl-a bl-a bla...
Mäns, did i say I wish I was there? Did u mention Wärtsy's colour? Not either.
