We're heading south and the chase is on - we're following one of the tuna boats towards the fishing grounds. There are a number of frustrated crew who just missed the England vs Paraguay world cup football game - ah the things we give up to save the world!

good luck for hunting the hunters ! Watch also their spotter-planes, because tuna purse-seiners are NOT supposed to use planes for locating tuna-flocks during June.

BFT fishing in the Med has so far been a complete disaster. The Balearic Fleet hasn't caught a single fish. The Italian and French fleets working for Ras El-Hilal and Nour Al-Hayat in Libya have only caught some 1.000 MT whereas last year on the same date they had caught over 9.000MT.
Some 50 to 60 tuna cages are currently being towed empty inside Libya's 60m zone. Tuna airspotting Cessna 337 and Partenavia P68 are illegally flying from Mitiga and Misratah airports in Libya.
The entire Mediterranean Sea BFT PS fleet is now waiting for the next full-moon though prospects are that indeed this year the fish isn't going to surface. On the other hand the Basque and French Atlantic BFT fishing fleets have started catching juvenile BFTs (Over 100MT in less than a week so far!!!!)
I would sugest you triple check the tuna ranches in Antalia (Turkey) and Limassol (Cyprus
If you could take very high resolution pictures from your helicopter, cage by cage, I will be able to tell you exactly (+/- 5%) the exact amount of BFT having been caged in that area.

Don't worry about missing the game, it wasn't that spectacular. England didn't play brilliantly to be honest. The score was 1-0 to England. David Beckham had a free-kick early on and the captain of Paraguay headed it into his own goal.

However, there have been some exciting games, such as Sweden vs. Trinidad and Tobago. Both teams put so much effort in throughout the game. Early in the second half, Trinidad and Tobago went down to ten men due to a red card. That was when everyone thought that Sweden were finally going to get their goal. But they couldn't. You could see the Swedish team and fans getting more and more embarresed and frustrated that they couldn't beat ten men. Trinidad and Tobago were defending superbly and their goalkeeper made some spectacular saves. Sooner or later, everyone was behind Trinidad and Tobago, the smallest nation in the cup. You just didn't want them to concede a goal against the mighty Sweden, you wanted them to win! In the end, it was 0-0. However, the noise in the stadium was coming solely from the Trinidad and Tobago fans.

Another exciting game was Argentina vs. Ivory Coast. Argentina, contenders for the World Cup, played just like you'd expect a latin-american team to do. However, they were given a challenge from the underdogs Ivory Coast, whom many think are the best African nation at football at the moment. Argentina eventually won 2-1, but it was an exciting game nonetheless.
