Meeting the Warrior

by Elaine, onboard the Esperanza

It's 5.40 am GST and if you are fast enough you might be able to catch a pretty special moment. We're meeting up with the Rainbow Warrior on its transit accross the Mediterranean. Check out the webcam...

All done - sorry if you missed it - we were never sure this was going to happen!

Ah, the Rainbow Warrior - there's a lot of history in that ship, and we all have a soft spot for her. So when we found ourselves in the East Mediterranean at the same time it would have been rude not to (bring the two ships together).

The Rainbow Warrior is heading to Genoa, Italy for the Defending Our Mediterranean tour. She's on a tight schedule but we still managed to rendevous early morning and she showed her sails for the cameras (and the webcam if you were really lucky). I got to clamber aboard, meet some of the crew and have a quick tour before we had to make our quick exit and let her on her way.

Does anyone think making an Esperanza webcam archive is a good idea?
Well if you do check out http://frummel.demon.nl/esperanza

I hope the server will not clog up, it's a home webserver.
I will transfer it to a datacenter server if there is any interrest.

great meeting there in eastern Mediterranea ! It's a beautiful symbol to see these two vessels together.
Mimouche and me say hello to our daughter Anne on the RW, and we are so proud of what you and all the crew(s) are doing for defending the oceans.
