Fluffy story
by Elaine, onboard the Esperanza
Every now and then there's a flicker of fluffyness that catches your eye. Now you'd think that "Greenpeace people" wouldn't partake in the fluffy critter thing but then you'd be wrong. But these aren't just any fluffy critters, these are action critters, travelling the world in search of adventure, excitement and photo opportunities. Here you see a group of fluffies having breakfast on the bow of the Esperanza somewhere in the Mediterranean (these are the ones that aren't camera shy - rest assured there's more on board but their keepers don't want to expose them to the trauma that fame can bring).
Frog is well travelled, having experienced Trecking in Nepal, life on Indonesian islands and even attended political conferences in Brazil. He's currently seperated from his keeper (yes she forgot him - shocking) and is staying onboard the Esperanza volunteering in the campaign office. Then theres Tigger - Gavin's little feline friend -
hanging out in the deepest cave in the USA and probably the best decorated cave in the world... Lucky tigger... :-). He's keen caver, base jumper and attendee of countless Greenpeace actions and has recently been seen hanging out with Nemo - his little fishy friend. How appropriate that he is an Ocean Defender!

My three little fluffy friends say "Hi" to your fluffy group.
Sitting on top of my computer as a constant reminder of the oceans, and joining you as Ocean Defenders, are Waves the orca, Seaweed the otter, and Echo the dolphin.
They aren't well-travelled yet, but are learning a great deal as they read your weblogs with me.

all my teddybears were filled with joy, happiness and inspiration upon seeing fluffies on board. mine are not very oral (even a "hi" is too advanced) but they always nod when i say that action speaks louder than words. so dont be surprised if you see colargol (a bear), tiger (a...yep) and jonatan (a monkey) approaching fast in a rib preparing for a somewhat weird but supportive action. appearance is everything and these guys might actually take the targets by surprise.

Kikkert the dutch frog looks awfully like Oscar the grouch in Sesame Street. And lucky LUCKY Tigger, being able to travel and get in Lechuigilla Cave at that!
I also have my own fluffy zoo at home. Mr. Polar Bear, Tuko the monitor lizard, Mr. Chameleon, Mr. Gay (plays a queer character with my niece and nephews animal play) the dolphin, Mr Brown Bear No-Eyes (missing both eyes) and Mac the ram.
I think I will bring them to the ship to get some much needed GP action hehehe.
Mundaneness aside, I hope the sea life we are trying to save won't be what these toys are-only reminders of what we once had.

"Fluffy Animal Activists .. "
They could HUG THE WORLD into SUBMISSION!
If you don't change your ways, Frog and Tigger will come to your posh office while having your posh meetings and give you a big HUG.
Everyhour of everyday.
Untill you play nice.
