It is curious how we can get used to things... With the absence of nights, days pass us by between routines, efforts and momentary skins which are deliciously infinite. I can't remember well the last time I saw the moon before leaving land behind my back, but what I can really remember is how the moon accompanies my sleep and I love to see how now it is the day that takes its place...a time without nights... They are nice, big, majestic; I tried to count their colours but it's beyond my reach, the shades...lots, make them even more special. I like icebergs. Whales await us and we can smell through the waves the approaching drama. Today we trained, we enjoyed and learnt...we learn...we try to learn...we enjoy it... Tomorrow it will be another day and my view will get lost again in the infinite ocean and I will continue feeling: "A wish, an idea, a hope, a purpose, a community, a space and a time...for all of these things happily I am here."

I hope that's not dairy products you hold in your hands in this picture. As you probably are aware, dairy production is just as evil as whaling. Each year in the US alone, 1 million baby boy calves are sold to veal production or simply thrown away in the trash just so humans can nurse from their mothers' teats. Humans do not need cow's milk, baby cows do. But somehow people have managed to turn nature upside down in order to consume a really unnatural food (much like the eating of whale meat). All milk production (this includes organic dairy) are guilty of the killing of baby cows. Because cows will only produce milk for baby calves and never for humans. In order for humans to nurse from the mother cow, we must kill the baby. Now where is the justice in that? Ive met some amazing baby cows rescued from the trash behind a dairy and they are truly precious and do not deserve to be thrown away. Anyway, I'm sure the conscientious crew of Greenpeace would never do a thing like consume dairy.....but just in case you do. I wanted to get this info across.

Hi Joanne
Thank you for your post and yes that is cheese you see in the picture. We do have milk based products onboard for those who choose to eat them but we also provide alternatives for people who don't. I for one no longer drink milk for most of the reasons you've stated.
I can assure that there are many discussions onboard about this and other animal related issues and while we don't all see eye to eye on everything the one we are all united on is peaceful opposition to commercial whaling.
thanks again for your post
