John - Translator

Third time lucky? I am hoping so anyway as it's my third time trying to stop
whaling, a difficult task in a difficult environment. At the interview for the
job I now have in Keele University they mentioned how they didn't want me heading
off on any more adventures, but my new boss, like so many others I know, thinks
highly of Greenpeace's work so I got the go ahead.
I studied Japanese at London, Nagoya and Cambridge universities, the Greenpeace
connection came through a friend when they were looking for a translator for
a plutonium campaign. I've been getting the occasional phone call ever since.
I'm used to travel on land, but this has taught me about the world of the ocean.
