Dear Prime Minister....

At the end of the day it is the worlds governments that have the power to protect deep sea life. Here in NZ, our Government has been making some promising noises, recognising that there is a problem and that something must be done about it.

However the time for fine words and future promises is past, and concrete and urgent action needs to be taken. Because every day the talking continues, the bottom trawlers are out in international waters, and every day the destruction of deep sea life continues.

That's why we've produced thousands of postcards, addressed to the prime Minister, that carry the image of the giant coral and ask the question "How much more proof do you need?". As we talk to people around the country, we'll be asking them to sign these postcards and to take some for friends and families to sign and send in as well.

The more the Government see people are concerned about this issue, the more they are compelled to act.

If you're not in a town we'll be visiting on this trip (sorry - we can't get to everywhere as much as we'd like to) you can still help spread the word by asking for some postcards to be sent to you at home. You'll be able to use them, and the information on this site, to tell people about the impacts of bottom trawling.

If you want some postcards, click here to use our handy order form and remember, its freepost to send things to parliament buildings!
