Inspecting Britain's nuclear ‘renaissance’

Congratulations to the French government who now owns the British nuclear industry. Let’s hope they make a better job of it than the British government who’ve made places in Britain some of the most radioactive in the world.

And so Britain marches into its nuclear future. What could possibly go wrong? Well, quite a lot actually. Speaking to a meeting of trade unionists last month, UK finance minister Alistair Darling admitted that higher wages may have to be offered to nuclear inspectors because nobody wants to be one.

You read that right. Britain is launching its nuclear ‘renaissance’ with a shortage of safety inspectors. Does the nuclear industry drive their cars without wearing their seat belts? Get hot dishes out the oven without oven gloves? Go sunbathing without sun lotion? Nothing would surprise us.

Though the Windscale disaster happened before I was born, I do remember Chernobyl.

And I still can't work out why anyone in their right minds would want to build another nuclear reactor.

How much are they paying, and how much would a paid of lead underpants cost me?

You would think after what happened at Chernobyl? All the Governments around the world would keep saying No to nuclear power I am not surprised no one wants to be a nuclear inspector it just goes to show how dangerous this form of power is just look at what happened in Chernobyl they had well trained inspectors and reactor number 4 exploded contaminating a number of countries.

The sooner the nuclear industry is shutdown the saver the planit will be go for wind, sun, wave power all so recycle what you can.
