IPCC final report most important document this year

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) started their final 2007 meeting today in Valencia, Spain. We greeted them with three banners bearing the message “Warning: save the climate now.”

This week the IPCC will finalise the most important documents this year – the ‘Synthesis Report’ which brings together current scientific understanding on climate change and will guide climate change policy over the next few years.

In fact, this report is so important that the UN climate meetings to agree the next round of emission cuts under Kyoto taking place in Bali in December, were postponed so the IPCC could complete it.
