10,000 (energy wasting) lightbulbs crushed
EU and G8 ministers were meeting in Berlin to talk about energy efficiency, and we wanted to make an impression. So we took 10,000 old fashioned energy wasting incandescent lightbulbs and crushed them with a mechanized roller.

Incandescent lightbulbs like the ones we crushed, waste 95 percent of their energy generating heat instead of light. This wasted energy mostly comes from burning fossil fuels like coal - causing climate change by adding carbon dioxide to our atmosphere. These lightbulbs are so dangerously inefficient and easy to replace, we're saying countries should start banning them now and calling for an EU-wide mandatory efficiency standard on domestic lighting by 2010.
