The Rainbow did reach Istanbul already!
![]()
Our rainbow-the ship- didn’t make it to Turkey yet, but the rainbow of our nuclear free Middle East call, seems to be coloring the sky and the football fields in Turkey already.
In a derby game in Istanbul between Besiktas and Galatasaray a group of Besiktas fans unfolded a 162 m2 banner from the roof of the stadium reading “nuclear free Turkey” with our campaign logo.
There were around 40.000 people watching the game in the stadium, which was broadcasted, live on TV and radio as well.
What we know is that this group decided to celebrate their 25th anniversary with an insightful message: A nuclear free Turkey.
Together for a nuclear free middle east

Greenpeace Med Turkey Volunteers are proud to support Carsi Fan group of Besiktas Football team in their stand against nuclear. I wish the activity, which is watched and supported by millions on live broadcast, would help public better understand the threats of nuclear weapons and nuclear plants. The video and photos of the activity can be reached through www.greenpeace.org.tr

Thanks Tuna for the clarification.
I was wondering this action sounds like Greenpeace led actions. It is good... Now we know :)
