Iran's nuclear money

By Mike

Money, money, money ... it makes the world go around. Iran yesterday issued a new bank note emblazoned with the standard nuclear insignia of electrons whizzing around an atomic nucleus, like New York diplomats orbiting the UN Security Council.

While the diplomats seek to increase sanctions in a bid to force financial hardship on Tehran and enhance domestic opposition to Iran's uranium enrichment plans, Russian nuclear scientists are evacuating Bushehr because the cash strapped country has failed for two months to meet payments for the country's first nuclear power station.

It had been expected that nuclear fuel would be supplied by Russia this month for the Bushehr nuclear power station, however, according to Atomstroiexport, no money, no nuclear fuel.

Here is the irony: Iran's says it is pursuing uranium enrichment so it can produced nuclear fuel for reactors independently of the international market, for reasons of energy security. The international community meanwhile is promoting international nuclear fuel supply as a component of a diplomatic solution to preventing the spread of uranium enrichment technology. Yet, in the middle of the row and at the first hurdle, the nuclear fuel supply has been cut off quicker that a Gazprom pipeline through the Ukraine.

The new nuclear note is not connected to rising Iranian inflation according to officials. However, at 50,000 rials it is worth twice as much as the previous dominant denomination -- worth around USD5.40. A sure sign of inflation!

"If the science exists in this constellation, men from Persia will reach it," says the calligraphic legend atomic advert, quoting a saying from the Prophet Mohammed. MMMMMMM! And the central bank of Tehran will print money to pay for it, perhaps?

So far, 6 million of the notes have been released into circulation. The note also has a portrait of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the father of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and is orange, green and blue. So the men from Atomstroiexport should know what to look for!

It is seen that things have turned to be much more difficult. Nuclear label has been placed on the money of a country which represents its vision and culture. This shows how serious Iran takes this situation and the condition is turning to a power show. I guess, we will have to struggle a lot to turn the way of this wind.

Isler sarpa sarmaya basladi sanirim iyiden iyiye.

While I am against nuclear energy , I would not consider Iran as "evil" at all. Just because they live in a different system doesnt mean its bad.

There is a lot of bad propaganda against Iran from the US Government. For sure, if Iran has nuclear power it is more independent and somehow influence oil prices. This is probably one of the fact the US dont like.

Looking forward to see the new bill.
