Greenpeace calls for GE free zones in EU

Austria action.jpg
Following the de facto fall of the EU GE moratorium on Monday in Luxembourg, Greenpeace volunteers from Austria have demonstrated with members of Global 2000 to demand GE free zones in the EU.

Earlier today a meeting was held at the Linzer Landhaus, headquarters of the Upper Austria's provincial government, regarding the creation GE free regions in Europe.

Before the conference began our activists demonstrated along with other local organisations for a future without genetic engineering on the fields and food of Europe. Upper Austria is already a European GE free zone, together with the Italian region of Tuscany it is a precursor of a Network of GE-free zones in Europe. The demonstrators were calling for the whole of Austria to become GE free.
