April 28, 2004Greenpeace calls for GE free zones in EU
Earlier today a meeting was held at the Linzer Landhaus, headquarters of the Upper Austria's provincial government, regarding the creation GE free regions in Europe. Before the conference began our activists demonstrated along with other local organisations for a future without genetic engineering on the fields and food of Europe. Upper Austria is already a European GE free zone, together with the Italian region of Tuscany it is a precursor of a Network of GE-free zones in Europe. The demonstrators were calling for the whole of Austria to become GE free.
