Greenpeace 1 vs Moyresa/Bunge 0

Gecampaigner.jpg
Moyresa/Bunge has announced that it is going to convert its facility in Bilbao, Spain to a GE free zone. This is clearly a response to our actions earlier today in Cartagena.

Moyresa/Bunge are from today committing themselves publicly to use and supply only guaranteed GE Free soya from their Bilbao facility.

However this company will continue to import millions of tons of GE soya into Spain each year. It will continue to contaminate the food of the Spanish people and to support the environmental damage caused by farming GE crops and it has told us that it plans to continue to process GE soya here, in Cartagena.

Today Greenpeace has labeled Moyresa/Bunge as GE contaminated. Until Moyresa/Bunge stops contaminating our food and damaging the environment with GMOs Greenpeace will continue its campaign.

We have already given this response to the company a few moments ago by phone and we understand that they have now called the police and asked them to physically remove our activists who are still occupying the facility in Cartagena.
