Meet Sigurd: Activist from Germany

Sigurd, activist from GermanyName: Sigurd

From: Germany

Job: I'm a lumberjack, but at the moment I don't have a job because I want to travel around and learn more about different things.

What are you doing so far north?
Well, in Germany we already logged our ancient forests long ago - here in Finland we have the chance to protect them for future generations.

Have you been out in the forest before this trip? What happened?
When I was a lumberjack, I was in the forest every day for three years! But I spend also a lot of my free time in the forest, - I'm a member of an outdoor-project for children to make them more aware of nature.

What's your most important survival item?
My spoon-knife... (I've already made about four wooden spoons since I arrived)

Arctic Finland: Too cold, a bit cold, warm, or too damned warm?
The last two weeks were too damned warm, at the beginning it was really fantastic, crazy cold (-30 at night).
