What are you doing so far north?

I'm trying to do my part to save Europe's last old growth forests. These old forests are also important for the Sámi reindeer herders for several reasons. The last two days I was out skiing to demarcate old growth forest.

Have you been out in the woods before? What happened?

Well, I lived in Luleå, on the Swedish side of the Sámi area one year. I often went to the woods - on foot or on skis. What happened? When I'm out in the woods for a long time, everyday problems become less important - one starts to think in different ways.

What animal do you most resemble?

I don't know. But sometimes it would be good to be an eagle. To be able to see everything from high above would be really handy some days. But on the other hand I'm vegetarian...

What's the most important survival item?

Once I was discussing this topic with a friend and we came to the conclusion that the only piece of "furniture" one really needs is a knife.

Lapland: Too cold, a bit cold, warm, or too damned warm?

Right now it's too warm here. Skiing becomes difficult when it's melting. And besides I love the cold!
