On Thursday, our team marked out a small area of forest and put up a Sámi tent. On Friday, we completed preparations, had a skiing lesson from Tuomas in the afternoon, who was very impressed with their progress - a good sign!

Saturday - a bit of a day off. Some of the guys headed to Nellim, where the local museum hosted a cultural event, with slideshows, reindeer sleigh rides and lots of folk-singing with the Skolt and Inari Sáami people who live there.

On Sunday, Jarmo, Martjin and Tuomas marked out a huge area, to the west of the camp, as Reindeer Forest. They're using snow scooters, and working around natural boundaries, like the lake.

I'm at the office now, catching up with my email and the rest of the world.
