Meet Emilie: Activist from France
Name: Emilie
From: Marseilles, France
Job: Activist
I'm 27 years-old, and I come from Marseilles. I have worked with Greenpeace for approximately 4 years, since I joined a local group in Marseilles. Since my childhood, I have supported Greenpeace's activities, and wanted take part in them, as I think this is the most efficient environmental association for global cases. For me, the most important thing is to combine local and global actions together.
I'm in Lapland now, cause I'm particularly involved in the forest campaign: after two years of work with GP I have created an association which works for promotion and development of environmentally friendly products, focusing on recycled paper. In Finnish Lapland I am learning, and gathering information on forestry and reindeer herding so I can share this knowledge in my home region
In France we want to convince editors and authors to use recycled, FSC-approved, or paper made with other materials than wood (e.g. rice). Now is a crucial time, because of the Book Fair taking place in Paris on Friday (March 18th). I'm working to create links between our activities here and the Greenpeace events at the Paris Book Fair.
