Some of the activists are out of jail

Some of activists arrested yesterday are getting out of jail today.

By all accounts they were reasonably treated during their night in lockup - they were provided with blankets, mattresses, checkers boards to pass the time, vegetarian meals and even access to television news reports.

I wish I could tell you more about what the activists were charged with, but i can't for two reasons. At this point, we still don't know all the charges that will be filed against the activists.

The second reason is that we know ExxonMobil types are reading every word of this weblog, and they have an army of high-priced lawyers.

I don't recall being served any vegetarian meal in jail. I remember trading and sharing with the non-vegetarians what we can't eat for what they graciously offered. All of the activists are out of jail now.

Thank you all for being so calm and understanding while in custody. We did the best we could to make your stay ok for the circumstances. Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared to believe that something inside of them was superior to circumstance. Be safe.

More tigers are needed but i am grateful that somebody is concretely taking actions for exposing publicly the actions of the offenders. It is a true crime against humanity that have to respond for their actions. (french speaking)

Yes, the Dallas County Jail can be a bit accomodating to the needs of its inmates, but let's face it it is jail guys not the Holiday Inn. You act like you are political prisoners under a communist regime. I agree there are high priced lawyers from ExxonMobil anaylzing all the language and rhetoric you guys put out, but because of the manner in which you carried this out you're gonna have more than just ExxonMobil to worry about but you're gonna have Big Brother to worry about. You guys should read the Homeland Security Act a little more because those little so called harmless intrusions can be easily labeled as terroristic acts. If you're going to make a point about something don't go terrorizing buildings and the people that work in them because then your organization would be no different then terrorist organizations like Hezbollah or Al Qaeda. If your upper management is reading this then think long and hard about what just happened because if some wacked out organization who just doesn't like your cause decides to barge in like you did, you'd feel the same way too. Another thing, I know that these folks knew the possibility of being arrested was high, but are you going to fund the cost of supplying these nuts an attorneys? Yeah, how do you get off asking people to join your cause and give them criminal records at the same time. I am sorry I don't support any organization that encourages criminal acts period.

Criminal acts? Ok, whos acts are more criminal? Exxons, or the people protesting them? The patriot Act is not something I consider to be a validly officiated document, it is a violation of our democracy, and should be burned.
