We have a short web video of yesterday's activities at the ExxonMobil compound.
Media reports of the action vary wildly in accuracy, are interesting to watch. Our efforts of yesterday morning have recieved wide attention. Television stations particularly like the footage of a tiger who made it into the main lobby of the building being manhandled by security. He remains calm and avoids resisting as the obviously stressed security guard swings the larger tiger around by the throat.
And you have to admit, it is a bizarre image of a grown man wrestling with an absurdly cartoonish fuzzy tiger.

Posted by at May 28, 2003 11:55 AM | TrackBackok, you all are a bunch of fucking dumbasses. i mean really? if you want to get your damn say in, and not look like a total jackass in the public eye, you have to go through the proper legal channels. really, what the fuck puts you above the law? i already know that your going to have the cheep ass arguement that the legal system is to slow,well to bad, it's the best there is, so until you make a better one, SHUT THE FUCK UP! god, i mean really im 16 and i have a better damn grip on reality than you. and all of these little shits my age are either to stoned, are have been brainwashed by their damn liberal parents to know their wrong. you know, honestly, i still wouldnt like your organization, even if you didnt commit crimes. your just as bad as the companys that you are trying to take down, it obivous that you lie to gain publicity, yall are more crooked than that communist bastard clinton...
Posted by: mat at May 29, 2003 11:09 PMWow.
You're 16;
You're American;
You're an Idiot;
Hey we're lucky there's not so many people like you, else a Nazi WW3 would be a dream :-)
Posted by: fwyzard at May 30, 2003 09:31 AMwow, i a idont huh? ok well then its amazing that an idoit like me has a better comprehension of the world than your fucked up loser ass. yes, fwyzard, we are all inpressed that you were able to infer that im a facist Nazi, just from what i said. yet i seem to be a pround american??? hows that gonna work out? it'd make a hellvua good sit-com. atleast, unlike greenpeace and all of its fanatics, i have figured out that the world doesnt revolve around me. all of us in dallas are impressed that you stood up for your cause. we really are, yet when you disobey the direct order of a cop, you are no better than a common crook. infact, my dad works for the Irving Police department, he told me about the 3 dip-shits that 'cemented' their hands into buckets. what were you all thinking? instead of getting blasted in the face with mace, they could have just taken their damn hand out of the bucket. especially the 3rd guy. it was kinda obvious that you were lying, bro... and just because im 16 doesnt mean shit. i dont give a damn how old you are, or how wise you THINK you are. your just another loser wash out, who has nothing better to do than listen to the shit-slung, 'save the planet', lies of greenpeace. if you want to save the planet go deal with the staving people of the world first, oh wait, no you want them to die right? they are the problem, all of the innocent children, who are starving, yet greenpeace and all of its 'genius' minds, are trying to make people belive the genetically modified crops are bad. a fucking modified potato will never hurt anyone. 'oh, but it will throw of the delicate balance' bullshit, you know it just as well as anyone else, the FDA make damn sure that these crops are going to screw anything up. do you really think that they let a such an easily preventable famine happen? and dont give me this bull shit that the genes of the modified plant might enter a different genous of plant. if, maybe, you hadn't flunked out of high school biology you'd have learned that 2 differnt plants of diffent classes CANNOT naturally cross breed. so therefore saying that a modified potato will cross pollinate with a weed of some sort is completly insane! well, i think i have had enough for today, i wait for your rebuttal, fwyzard
Posted by: mat at May 30, 2003 10:45 AMhumm. seems i had a horrid mis-spelling at the beggining. that was supposed to be, 'wow, i am idoit huh?' sorry about the typo. and please, everyone, save us the comments on little mis-spellings and typos, it happens right? no-one thinks your cool because you can pick out typos
Posted by: mat at May 30, 2003 10:48 AMi just seem to be all over the place today. i didnt say what would happen if the modified crops were banned. millions would die. so until i see you (or anyother member of greenpeace) raising his or her hand to die, SHUT UP! you dont have the right to decide who lives and who dies, that playing god, which apparently the companys that produce these crops are doing to, so that makes you no-better than them.

Well news flash a 16 year old american kid seems to have a better understanding about what the hell is going on than you fwyzard. The only thing you are doing here is making yourself look even dumber than the people in the clip who incase you haven't checked look pretty damn stupid.

I'll compound that idiocy by saying that while showboating for the media such as Greenpeace did today is certainly a noble exploration of the freedom of speech, I also see it as an example of using alarmism to rally supporters to a cause that, rationally, shouldn't exist. The neo-Maltusian musings about global warming just don't wash outside of politically-motivated think-tanks and are quietly regarded as being as valid as claims the earth is still the center of the universe. They are quietly regarded as such because those same scientists live in fear of being shouted down by unscientific bullies from organizations such as Greenpeace who want to dictate the laws of nature to suit their own ends.
Yeah, yeah, I hear your replies. "Four legs good, two legs bad!", you say, but there just isn't anything solid to support claims of global warming. I anticipate the response, "Four legs good, two legs bad", but I have to say in my defense that even the ol' ozone hole scare seems to have gone away... global warming is about to join it in the dustbin of science. OK, so you say "four legs good, two legs bad", and I agree with that to some extent, but I don't see how it justifies fearmongering and calls for a governmental regime so strict, you'll soon be chanting, "four legs good, two legs *better*."

Posted by: Dean at May 30, 2003 09:10 PMWell, crap, make that three times the idiot because I didn't realize the forum doesn't refresh automatically. Oh well, live and learn.
Posted by: Dean at May 30, 2003 09:16 PMwell, temporianbard, apparently saving the world is a big problem, so i was just going out on a limb here, but i could have sworn that greenpeace was agaist modified crops because it would screw up the ecosystem. am i right? i think so, but just correct me if im wrong, so these modified crops have a much greater yield, resist heat/cold better, takes better to different kinds of soil (i.e sand, dirt, mud... yes man, there is a big difference.) so because of the greater yield we could, in theory, feed more people right??? oh, but we already feed more people, so therefore if we were to ban modified crops more people would starve, so my question is, what the hell gives you the right to choose who lives and who dies? so now, moving on, now to how this relates to the 'global warming'. if it's so bad, then wouldnt 'natural' crops die??? to hot=bad crop year. millions upon millions would die, because you wanted unrealiable crops. maybe your organization should solve one problem at a time. and yes i do find it wrong to disobey the direct order of a police officer. notice, did i not say, "it's the best there is (im talking about the our law system, just to keep you up to speed), so until you make a better one, SHUT THE FUCK UP!" in my first post? we are obviously not Nazi Germany of the 1940s, nor are we under Islamic law, we have many, many more freedoms. so as to compare my views on 'law and morality' with such crap is total non-sence. i may not like the police but they are just doing their job. they are trained to deal with suspects. and they dealt with them in the correct manner. you know, there is a reason that cops want to see your hands, its to know that your not carrying a weapon, and since you obviously dont care about human life ("a. You think Greenpeace should stop children dying? They are trying to stop the whole f**king planet dying.") whos to say that they weren't carrying weapons? that cops best interest is himself, yes it is a dangerous job, but thats why when someone dis-obeys him, he will look out for his own best interest, HIM. and what the hell did you mean by this "c. People should use their real name? Great example to set, 'Mat' USA really makes you responsible for what you type." what, do you think thats not my real name?? well it is asshole, it's Mathew. so what, my name was mis-spelled on the birth certificate. now if your dumb enough to say, "see you didnt use your real name!" then you are just a dumb shit who comtribues nothing valuable to the world, just awhole lot of constant bitching. now, i bet you were REAL proud when you wrote your post, i bet you felt all big and badass, well maybe you should have read that im 16. now im guessing that your older than me. im not asking for any sympathy or anything, but you have alot of damn gall to try to look smarter infront of a 16 year old. thats sad dude. really. i mean your obviously scraping the bottom of the barrel. may the lord shine on your disposition, because belive me buddy, you need it.
Posted by: mat at May 30, 2003 09:52 PMyou guys suck...

Posted by: mat at May 30, 2003 10:57 PMmat are you for or against stem cell research?
Posted by: Alistair at June 1, 2003 03:13 AMi remember hearing something about stem cell research, but i dont remember exactly what it is they are trying to do.
Posted by: mat at June 1, 2003 10:26 AMi think that the united states should stop their ge and gm testing until they understand it more. america has a history of messing around with things that it doesn't understand for example when america tested it first nuclear weapon they did not actually know if the reaction would stop. yet they still did it. how do people know that when they are genetically engineering plants they are not paving the way for a super bug to appear. mat if you belive in god which you must do than you should understand that we shouldn't mess around with things that we do not understand. and if countries such as america did want to feed the starving the 75 billion george bush is asking congress for to pay for the war in iraq would buy alot of food
Posted by: alistair at June 1, 2003 11:26 PMWhy are all of you only debating the stupidity of those who disagree with you?
Try to be contructive and logic.
When I try to do that I reach the conlusion that
global warming is a very serius threat against
the whole environment.
What are the arguments that this is not true?
(My first language is not english so forgive me if the grammar is not all correct)
Björn Gustavsson, Stockholm, Sweden
Posted by: Björn Gustavsson at June 2, 2003 04:11 AMthe problem is, that if we were to stop making these crops, then millions would die, not to say that millions are not already starving, but you would further the global death toll. im not sure which middle eastren country it was that we were trying to give, for free, millions of tons of food. they rejected it because greenpeace told that government that these modified crops could have adverse affects on people. we have been eating modified crops of some sort since the time man has been able to plant and harvest crops. has man dropped dead since then? obviously not. these crops have so far have not had any effect on man, expect make us fatter.
Posted by: mat at June 2, 2003 12:17 PMI've read your "nice" letters and I do think that the world needs lots of Associations like Greenpeace in order to let people (not only corporations, governments and Research institutes) apply a general, simple " precautionary principle", starting from the way to express their thoughts - if we do not learn to have respect of someonelse's opinion it will be impossible to struggle against the war, hunger and all the other beautiful results of our "freedom" and "progress".
Posted by: claudia at June 3, 2003 08:01 AMok, im not for dystoying the world, but im am saying that greenpeace is full of crap, and their methods are totally contradictory of their perpose. i am also aware that my previous posts were very vulgar, but i was very angry at those points in time, thats why i am restaining myself now. the saying "the end will justify the means" will never apply to this situation, simply because there will be no end. more actions like this previous one will, if anything, mearly anger the companys or organizations, although is it very sad, when it all comes down to it, they can buy their way out of a situation, they have more resources than greenpeace can even imagine having. do things the right way, without lying, cheating, or "bending the rules". although it is becoming less true, "cheaters never win"
Posted by: mat at June 3, 2003 01:12 PMI just wanted to say thank you to those who were incarcerated so that this kind of discussion can take place.
There will always be those who do not realize what you are doing will benefit everyone (including the nay-sayers).
Keep up the great work, you are keeping this issue in the spotlight - exactly where it needs to be.
To the nay-sayers of the world..
Sometimes rules need to be broken so that institutions that are corrupt can be changed.
This has happened throughout history, and will continue...Thankfully.
Again. Thank you. Greenpeace has been on the front line of many important battles. There are many around the world that support you.
Posted by: Jon at June 11, 2003 01:03 PMwell, knowing one of the "bucket people" personally--Scott, I must say that I find no fault in this type of guerilla art protest activism.
I find it is more important to ask why the hell a SWAT team has to be deployed to deal with some kids in Tiger suits?
Why do the PIGS feel the need to mace people in the face during a non-violent protest?
Why does law enforcement always come to the aid of multi-national corporations that have no loyalty to any government and only bow down to profit?
Oh, and to the dumb ass 16 year son of a PIG, you need to read some history.
The FDA has made plenty of mistakes in the past resulting in all sorts of problems with birth defects, cancer, etc.
Ever here of Phen-Fen MORON?
And exactly why should Monsanto or any other multi national be able to tell people what food they must eat?
If the Europeans have the good sense to insist that their food be non-GM, then exactly who the FUCK do you think you are to tell them otherwise?
The Africans can eat whatever they want, but they have no right to force their GM food on any other nation.
And if you honestly believe that the companies behind GM food have the world's starving people in mind rather than their own profit you are even more immature and naive than your posted rantings indicate.
And, plenty of research already finds various genes from GM foods jumping species and infecting other non-GM varieties of foods. This phenomenon is not well understood yet and needs further study so that steps can be taken to presewrve genetic diversity and heirloom varieties of plants.
So, in summation son of PIG, quit watching so much FOX news and PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS!
Posted by: steveeboy at June 11, 2003 03:49 PMPlease, America, tell me that Mat is not representative of your country's "thoughts" on such things as global warming, ozone depletion and genetically modified foods. While the Mats out-number the Steveeboys we are ALL in dire straits.
Posted by: John-Boy at June 11, 2003 05:10 PMyeah steeveboy calling police officers pigs is real cool of you. stop being a moron being a police officer isnt easy at all espically with lil shits like you. you know why they use swat teams for situations like that to show you they have authority there letting you know what happens if you cross the line which greenpeace does quite often i suppose you think that a solider is as good as satan. god forbid anyone defends our country.
Posted by: mark k at June 15, 2003 12:37 PMwow. all i can say is, wow. its funny how most of the people who truly care about the fate of our world are spending more time trying to save it and make a difference instead of sitting on their fat, lazy butts at home complaining about how stupid the person who made the last post is. being 16 as well, i find it somewhat pitiful that a bunch of grown men and women are spending this much time on this site when they could either be saving the world from its many environmental problems in a way where they dont have to make fools of themselves, or making something of themselves in a world where they know that everything's not perfect, yet they might as well make the best of their lives in this world and not cause problems for the rest of us. i would like to think that our crappy government is wrong in giving us genetically altered food, but really, nothing in the altered food has hurt me or anyone else i know, so i guess i cant complain about that too much. oh well, im tired of this site anyways, and since ill never get back on this site again and dont really care about what any of you think of me anyways, ill quit beating around the bush and say what ive meant to say the entire time: the people in greenpeace are a bunch of faggots who really have way, way too much time on their hands and are trying to live out their lives as if this were the 1960s. besides, as nofx once said, hippies suck, they give you bad drugs.
Posted by: will at June 17, 2003 04:32 PMOH MY GOD! People against Greenpeace: that's great... now get on with your life. What's over is over. People for Greenpeace: if you want to save the world, get off your lazy ass and go do it because sitting in front of your computer typing paragraphs in which you try to sound like a genius just takes away your precious tree saving time. Yeah I'm 15 and I don't claim to be smarter than the rest of you but I guarantee that some of you are completely ignorant. I don't have a huge preference one way or the other, but I can say that if I was as worried about the world as some of you claim to be, then I wouldn't be sitting around in my computer room bitching like a 10 year old girl.
Posted by: Abbey at June 24, 2003 12:04 PMGreenpeace are fags. I mean really they are. Like during the war with Iraq, were they would stop traffic by making "human fences". Thats just retarded, if i was driving, would have kept going. I agree with Mat. Also I would just like to point out that every single liberal p.o.v. in a debate is absolutly crushed. Even when Gore and Bush debated, Bush kicked his ass and Bush had the i.q. similar to a tucan. Seriously, why do you think there isnt one democrat radio talk show host? Why is there a republican president and congress? Because there views make sense. Liberals have to make everythign the "same" and "equal". Like aff. action. and all bullshit. I'm sick of the liberals showing themselfs to be noble and rightous and how they are doing the "right" thing. For example, how Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin said they would move to Canada if Bush won the election, unless Canada annexed beverly hills, i think they pulled a fast one on us. Well thats all i have to say, im out.
Posted by: jordo at June 28, 2003 08:09 PMGreen peace Green Peace Green Peace. Whats the trouble? global warming? i dont beleive its happening personally, and even if it is, i dont think we have contributed to it, or are able to stop it, the ice age got melted by I guess global warming, and that was long before we had pollutants in the air put out by humans. And as long as we are talking about the war with iraq and the protesting, dont piss off people who need to get somewhere because you are whinnning moron, blockading streets and crap, yall can all be lucky i didnt find a blockade or one of teh dead ins because id idle over everyone, and honk my horn just to say i gave them fair warning. You want to help the planet? Then know your arguement, there is plenty of oil left in the world, and incase u havent noticed, the atmosphere is a big place, and really the only harmful chemical the cars put out its carbon monoxide, then theres water, and carbon dioxide, but cadillac converters filter out alot of crap, water its dangerous, and we need carbon dioxide. and to the people who think we are killing our selves by cutting down the trees because it takes away our oxygen, if we took away all the trees and plants there would be enough algea to convert CO2 into O for us to live, so stop whinning. I am going to keep driving my freakin SUV that gets 8 miles to the gallon, u know why? BECAUSE I CAN
