Roger - Photographer

Crew: Elaine
Name:
Nationality:
Position:

What is it that you do on a ship that you don't do on land?
Ocean rubbish surveys

What's the one thing you wish you had with you from home? Or what do you miss most right now?
I donÂ’t miss anything really

Do you know what's the date today?
Twenty something

How often do you look at the time?
Not very often at all

One word or phrase you use a lot on the ship.
“Elephants are big!”

How long have you been sailing with Greenpeace? When, what and how was the first time?
IÂ’ve been sailing with Greenpeace for 16 years. 1990, we were in the Tasman Sea, working on the driftnet campaign, first campaign on this Rainbow. Being a photographer, biologist and diver, the office in New Zealand asked me to document the driftnet campaign.

“Being a photographer for Greenpeace has opened up the world for me. I was able to be out of the South Pacific, meet new people and support the campaigns with my pictures.”

Hey Roger,
Good to see your updates on this blog. Nice work on the underwater banners! The Espy has just departed Pohnapai where they've been diving and sightseeing Nan Madol all over again (amongst the work of course). Happy sailing out there
