레인보우 워리어 호에서의 마지막 밤
내일이면 벌써 부산에 도착하는군요. 생각보다 2주가 빠르게 지 나갔습니다. 배에서 이처럼 장기간 생활하는 것이 처음이라서 그런지 몸이 점 점 약해지는 것을 느낍니다. 매일 더 어지러워 지고 몸도 좋지 않아서 갈수록 지치는군요. 오늘 오전에는 새로운 종류의 돌고래를 발견했다고 하는데요, 저 는 참 부끄럽게도 닐(Neil)이 농담하는 줄 알고 밖에 안 나가서 못 봤습니다. 하지만 문 원장님이 책에서 보여주셔서 어떻게 생긴 돌고래인지는 알 수 있었 습니다. 큰 돌고래(Bottlenose Dolphin)로 지난 번에 본 긴 부리 참 돌고래보 다는 더 크고 색깔도 더 검은 돌고래였습니다. 아쉽긴 하지만 어쩔 수 없죠. 오늘이 벌써 4월 1일인데다가 금요일이라니 정말 믿을 수 없을 정도로 시간이 빨리 지나가네요. 집에 돌아가면 할 일이 잔뜩 쌓여있을 텐데……. 그래도 결국 돌아갈 곳은 집밖에 없죠.
We will arrive in Busan soon tomorrow. 2 weeks on the Rainbow Warrior have passed faster than I thought. I feel getting weaker while on this ship for 2 weeks. Everyday I feel dizzy more and more and I am tired a little bit now. This morning, we found a new kind of dolphins. Neil told me to go out and watch them but I took it as a joke. (Yes, I know that I am so silly.) So Mr. Moon showed me how it looks like with his book. It was a bottlenose dolphin, which is much bigger and darker than a long-beaked common dolphin. It is hard to believe that today is already Friday and 1^st April as well. Time creeps on indeed. I have a lot of things to do after going back home. But home is the only place that I can go back.
오늘 저녁에는 BBQ 파티를 했습니다. 모두들 선실 위로 올라와 서 저녁을 먹었습니다. 후식으로는 쵸콜렛 바나나도 먹었습니다. 레인보우 워 리어 호에서 먹는 마지막 저녁 식사라서 그랬는지 기분이 조금 달랐습니다. 부산에서 많은 사람들이 배에서 내리고 다시 타기 때문에 이별의 밤이라고나 할까요. 그 동안 고래 탐사를 위해 힘써주신 리비와 윤미숙 씨, 마용운 씨, 복 감독님, 문 원장님, 그리고 항상 좋은 사진 제공해주신 이성수 기자님, 심 심할 때마다 제 곁에 있어주었던 닐과 삼숙 언니, 항상 저를 즐겁게 해줘서 고마운 샘과 지나, 배 위에서 맛있는 음식을 해준 아만다, 밤 늦게까지 배의 안전을 위해 나이트 워치를 해준 오스카, 딜립, 텍사스, 필, 그리고 그 누구 보다도 제게 잊을 수 없는 레인보우 워리어 호에서의 경험을 선사해 준 아델 과 마틸다, 짐, 데이브 모두에게 감사합니다. 그리고 지금까지 제 블로그를 읽어주신 분들도 모두 감사 드리고요. 제가 배 위에 있는 동안 메일을 보내 준 친구들에게도 고맙다는 말을 전하고 싶습니다. 무엇보다도 한국 해안의 고 래들이 안전하게 보호 받을 수 있기를 바라며 저는 이만 줄이겠습니다. 안녕 히 계세요!
We had a BBQ party tonight. Everyone went up to the deck and had a dinner together. I had a delicious chocolate banana after the dinner. It was quite special to me as a last dinner on the Rainbow Warrior. It was like a farewell party because almost of people will get off the ship tomorrow in Busan. I want to thank to; Libby and Mi-suk, Ma, Mr. Bok and Mr. Moon who surveyed whales, and Mr. Lee, the photographer who gave me all the beautiful photos, Neil & Samson who stayed with me whenever I was bored, and Sam & Jeena who always made me pleased, Amanda who made great meals for us, and Oscar, Dilip, Texas, and Phil who did night watch for the safety of the ship and most of all, Adele who gave me a great chance to experience this unforgettable adventure on the Rainbow Warrior, and Matilda, Jim and Dave. And thank you for the other crews, Flavio, Lino, Phill, Dave, Tapio, Caterina, and the captain Derek. And thank you for YOU who have read my weblog as well and my friends who mailed me while I was on the ship (I really miss you guys so much!!). Wishing all the whales in Korean waters can be protected well, I finish this weblog. Good-bye!
