Yvo de Boer on emmisions, CDM and Bush

The first in a series of video interviews that will include the big wigs of Shell and the International Energy Agency, George Monbiot talks to Yvo de Boer about the US joining the consensus process last year in Bali, the departure of President Bush and the Clean Development Mechanism.

The CDM is a provision in Kyoto that was intended to allow Annex B countries (industrialised countries with greenhouse gas reduction commitments) to invest in the developing world as a way to cut their greenhouse gas emissions and claim credits against their own emission reduction targets. About half-way through there is a pretty easy to understand explanation of the CDM. Enjoy.
