Activists block Vattenfall coal excavator in Germany

Picture%205.png

Yesterday 29 of our activists in Germany protested at the open-pit lignite mine, Jaenschwalde in Lausitz, against further use of this climate destabilising fuel. A giant "Stop" banner was laid out in front of a huge bucket-wheel excavator from Vattenfall and they blocked the excavator for seven hours.

Vattenfall was less than happy about this. All of the activists were arrested and the banner together with all their other equipment was confiscated.
