Good luck you guys!!!!!!! The anti bulldozer biketastic action looks very cool and the and campaign looks like it is about the rock the phone lines of Argentine embassies all over the world.
I called the embassy in the UK from Bermuda, but got the answer machine telling me it was a piblic holiday (!!???) so I left a message saying "I would like to urge the Argentine government to end the environmental destruction involving indescrminate deforestation in the North, thank you, goodbye"
Hmmmm - not quite the same as riding around in front of bulldozers on bikes but I am afraid it was the best I could do. ;-))

Go go go. I don't know what you can do with a few motorbikes against bulldozers but I wish you all the best. We will campaign from Australia. Save the southern hemisphere!!!
Posted by Owen Jones at July 26, 2004 6:36 PMAs there is no email given for Gonzalo or Emiliano, I'll post a copy of a letter I sent to the Argentinian Embassy of Japan:
Dear Consulate General,
I am writing with regards to clear-cutting in the region of Salta, Argentina. Currently, a forested area the size of Germany is under threat of being clear-cut to establish farms for growing genetically modified soy for the purpose of cattle feed.
I feel that I must voice my disapproval of this policy as the land is the home of campesinos and Wichies and is part of the remaining stands of old growth forest, of which only 25% remain in Argentina.
This policy will forever strip Argentina of its natural wealth and beauty. I urge your government to stop this policy before it is too late.
Sincerely,
Douglas J E Barnes
