Victory?

News just coming through from the Environment Committee vote in Brussels - and it's good. In fact it's better than that.

130 gCO2/k in 2012. This means NO PHASE-IN

Penalties back to commission proposal also. After nine months of lobbying the industry have made no headway at all.

And in fact the Commission's proposal has been strengthened rather than weakened as a 2020 target has been added.

Thanks to all who helped ensure this victory. And it was a significant victory with (we think) between a 10-15 vote majority.

More detail as we get it, but this could be a huge victory for the climate!

This is just about the best news I've heard in ages.
