Toxic death ship blockade continues
by Andrew (from the Greenpeace office in Amsterdam)
Our blockade of the Probo Koala (aka The Toxic Death ship) has been going on for over 15 hours now. Ivona, our on board web editor, has been detained by the police, which is why I am writing this update for her.I just spoke to Derek, captain of the Arctic Sunrise. They are still anchored in a position blocking the port entrance, but will move out of the way for other ships.
Ivona and Texas were in one of our boats - keeping an eye on the Koala. Reports are sketchy, and it is not clear if the police have arrested them or are just holding them temporarily.
The authorities have ordered the Sunrise to take on a harbor pilot and move to dock. We politely declined. We can't let the Koala continue with "business as usual" when their last job was so deadly.

You are doing an amazing job. Whoever is responsible for the mess in Abidjan must face his/her responsabilities. No one should be able to get away with that.
I hope Ivona and Texas will be free soon to keep up the fight. I've been reading this blog for quite a while now and I feel like I know them...

Could you please send me some information about Greenpeace ships like names, number (except of Arctic sunrise,ESPY,R.W2 and argus?

This company must not be allowed to get away with this toxic waste scandel. You are doing a fantastic job. Why has it not reach the UK news? The rest of Europe are involved despite it was Trafrigura London office that were in charge of the boat at the time!!!!!
