ESPERANZA
CREW: Leon
Third Mate Netherlands For how long have you been in Greenpeace? I've got a very long history with Greenpeace. Work for them three months now. After maritime school I started working on oil tankers as engineer. It was great fun (sailing in the Carribean), learned a lot and I had too much money. I thought: "I can stay here till my retirement or I quit now and do all the things I wanted to do since I'm young" (now I'm already 25) So I quit, followed a school for sailing ships, worked on sailing ships and ended up here. Something I really wanted. For the next few years I plan to hang around and do whatever I like; some sailing (for GP and other ships) and some holiday. I'm taking my sabbatical year(s) before I even start working seriously. On the perfect day off, what do you do? I'm in the Biesbosch, a Dutch national park. Floating around in the water in an inflatable tube while I'm camping there with all my friends. And I also want to say: Leve de Lofoten en olietankers opgerot! |
