An unpublished European Commission opinion poll conducted in October 2003 puts Israel at the top of the list of countries considered a "threat to world peace" by citizens of the European Union.

Israel is considered a threat by 59 percent of those polled, followed by the United States, Iran, and North Korea, all considered a threat by 53 percent of the EU population.

William Blum, Noam Chomsky and many others have been writing for years that Israel is essentially an offshore American military base. Could it be that the role of Israel and the American Empire is (finally) going mainstream ? And will this mean that one can criticize Israeli policy without being dubbed anti-Semitic ?

It will be interesting to see how this "pans out" in mainstream media...
